Unicorn Christmas Birthday Party
Oh my goodness, I still can’t believe my baby girl is two. And what kind’ve party do you throw for a princess that’s two, 10 days before Christmas? A Unicorn Christmas Birthday Party of Course!
I have to admit I feel bad, because Emma is the youngest, and her birthday is right around Christmas. She’s always getting the short end of the stick, but she could care less. This year I put her birthday theme together in 2 days (see short end of the stick) but, hey it all worked out. Another thing about this party it was super easy!
Party Time
I hosted her party earlier in the day, 11-1 so we could have the evening to celebrate her big day. But I liked doing these parties at an earlier time since the kids are younger and some of them still nap.
It also makes the food easy for party, I ordered pizza and stopped at Costco for a tray of sandwiches, a couple premade dips, fruit, and salad, and juice boxes. Food for the kids and some snacks for the parents.
Craft time
You know what made this party super fun… Christmas Crafts! Seriously all the crafts stores have a ton of little Christmas crafts for the kids. Come December most of them are 50 – 60% Off. Another great thing about a lot of these crafts, they don’t call for a lot of supplies. I made sure the only crafts I bought we could color using washable markers and stickers. No glue, no sparkles, no paint.
Crafts I got this year included, make your own reindeer ears, ornaments, picture frame ornaments, felt wreaths, and felt stockings. Plus a whole bunch of Christmas stickers and letters.
Donut Cake
Since her birthday was earlier in the day, and I wanted to do something different I didn’t get a traditional birthday cake. This year I went with a donut cake!! We have a local bakery/ chocolate shop in town that is absolutely amazing. I called them they helped me choose a donut type, frosting, sprinkles, and even suggested the unicorn chocolate mold on top! Plus when we picked the donuts up that morning they had a latte waiting for me. Can’t ask for anything better than that! The cake was a huge hit, the donuts were fresh, and amazing. The best part… the clean up, no frosting mess, and not having to sit there and slice a cake. Made it super easy!
Decorations
So apparently unicorns and Christmas are a thing now. I found this blow up unicorn for less than $15! And the plates and napkins at homegoods. I threw the arrangements together from picks and stems at Michael’s. I lucked out since they were 70% off! Also the tinsel Unicorn was from Michael’s on sale for 50% off. One thing that helped too was there was a lot of unicorn ornaments I found at Target, and Michael’s. I own the light board and usually bust it out for birthdays and holidays, because it’s such an easy item to decorate with!
Putting this together in 2 days, I’m gonna call that a success! Crafts, donuts, friends, what a great Christmas birthday celebration!
