Target Dollar Spot Wrapping Paper Hack

Happy Monday! Usually I’m posting blogs weekly on Wednesday’s but I have been crafting hard the last couple weeks! With the Christmas season right  around the corner I have been busy getting ready. I still can’t believe that Thanksgiving is this week. With that being said, I have to admit I’ve slowly been pulling out the Christmas decor and putting away all the fall decor. I saw this little Target dollar spot hack on the internet, and I had to try it out for myself since its totes adorbs. Because I was trying it out, I figured I would just put together a little tutorial for anyone else interested.

Supplies

This little Target dollar spot wrapping paper hack cost me under $10 dollars to make both signs. It’s also inspiring me on a few other diy’s. What I used were two rolls of dollar spot wrapping paper, and two of their thanksgiving signs.

  • two rolls of $1 Wrapping paper
  • two wood signs ($3 a piece) from the Target dollar spot (both different sizes)
  • mod podge
  • scissors/exacto knife
  • optional $3 dollar wreath from Target dollar spot(I added glue and glitter to mine)
  • White Craft(acrylic) paint

Signs

The first thing I did was paint the signs. I simply took some white craft paint and painted over the words on the sign. The wrapping paper is a little thin, so I wanted to make sure the words didn’t show through. I only did one coat of white paint, and it was dry within the hour.

Wrapping Paper

I then measured and cut the wrapping paper, I used my exacto knife for this. If you don’t have an exacto knife tracing the frame and using scissors will work just the same.

Mod Podge

After I cut it down to size I mod podged the frame and carefully lined the wrapping paper onto the frame. I used a popsicle stick to help me get out any air bubbles as I placed it in the wood frame. After I got the wrapping paper laid in I mod podged the top and let it dry.

Wreath

I found the wreath in the Target dollar spot too, but I wanted to add a little sparkle. I simply used spray adhesive and fine glitter to give it a little sparkle. Then using a piece of ribbon I just taped it to the back of the frame .

This cute little Target dollar spot hack is a great easy diy. I’m seriously getting some other wrapping paper hack ideas as I type this, therefore stay tuned. This could definitely be a to be continued!
