Christmas 2018 Tablescape

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and I’ve gone pretty crazy over decorating my dining room table scape this year. With this being my first year with a furnished dining room I’m loving the decorating that goes along with it. Christmas 2018 Tablescape I think is finally ready for Christmas dinner.

Centerpiece

When creating my centerpiece, the actual focal point of the table, I had trees in mind. I wasn’t sure exactly what kind of trees so when I found these at Pottery Barn I fell in love with them. They’re made from tempered glass, and honestly any picture I take won’t do them justice. They have such a glimmer to them anyway the light hits them. After I bought these, I let everything else play around them. A word of advice if you’re overwhelmed and don’t know where to start, pick one thing you love and work around it. Also worked in with the trees are these wrought iron candles sticks, I’ve been incorporating them into most of my tablescapes, because it’s so easy. I’ve just changed the candlesticks to change the feel, and representation.

Table Runner

First of all, I did a bit of a diy with the table runner, and for some reason I completely didn’t document it! But I’ve been looking high and low for a perfect slab of wood to make a table runner with. And the whole time the answer was in front of my face!! I used a 1×8 I had laying in my garage. Beating it up a bit and stained it to get a rustic looking table runner. If you’re looking for a little more in-depth diy just comment below and I can get a tutorial going. Going forward I used a table runner that I had from Target and just layered the wood piece on top of it. And then on top of the wood table runner I used a piece of fur garland from pier 1. Seriously layers on layers of table runners. Finishing off with these ornaments, reindeer candle holders, tea lights and Christmas trees, that all came from the dollar tree!!

After all that I felt like I was missing one thing to really tie into a rustic glam Christmas tablescape. Some greenery! Another rule of thumb I believe in, when in doubt try some greenery.

Table Settings

Vintage Santa, and buffalo print anything makes me weak in my knees. Obsessed is probably a fitting word. Honestly target dollar spot has been getting in the cutest appetizer plates. Along with the appetizer plates they had matching chargers. Which have in turn helped me plan my table setting, especially because the price is unbeatable. To tie in the plaid, and vintage with the center of the table, I had to add some of the same greenery as well as a little glitter. I found the glitter picks at hobby lobby and the greenery stems from Michael’s.

Now that the dining room is ready for a Christmas meal, I guess I have to start planning on my menu.

    1. Hi!!! I found them at hobby lobby in the fall decor, but I did see they have red and black plaid ones for Christmas. And I think I also saw some at pier 1. 😀
