Craftiness is My Happiness❤️

Because it’s Monday I thought I would open up the week with a DIY to help get myself motivated. As I’ve previously stated before I’m a pretty big freak about clutter, and because of that I have an extreme dislike for things on my kitchen counter. It always seems no matter what I try I turn around and some paper, toy, keys, etc end up on the counters! So I use a lot of trays and stands around my kitchen to try and keep the clutter under control.

I wanted a small pedestal stand for next to my sink, to hold hand soap, lotion, and dish soap and still look pretty. I couldn’t find anything I really liked so I decided to get crafty and make my own!

It was so easy, no power tool are needed, and most importantly it was cheap to make. I’ve seen stands like these selling for $20+ dollars on Etsy! I think it cost a little under $10 for all the supplies, I also used a 40% off coupon at Michaels and Hobby Lobby to keep my costs down. So here’s how easy it is!

Supplies:

  • Wood round (Michaels)
  • Wood finals/candlesticks (Hobby Lobby)
  • E6000 Glue
  • Foam Brush
  • Stain
  • Polyurethane

First I measured where I wanted the legs to go.

Once I figured out where I wanted the legs I marked it with a pencil, and put the E6000 glue on the wood candlesticks

Then glued them to the wood round and let them dry overnight

The next day I sanded it lightly, and stained it using the foam brush. I mixed the two shades in the picture above, but you could use whatever color you want! I let it dry overnight and the next day I threw a coat of polyurethane on it and let it dry, and that’s it! Finished!

Now let’s go out there and kick Monday’s butt!😉
