Diy Wood Wreath
Help me! I feel like I caught a Man cold, you know the cold our husbands usually get which sends them into an almost coma for a week or so. I feel terrible, but I had to get this diy wood wreath post up before Thanksgiving, because it makes an adorable thanksgiving wreath. My friend and I made this wreath using wood slices (and some wine). This wreath is a great diy for fall or winter.
Wreath Supplies
For this wreath we got all of our stems at Michael’s craft store, I think it was about $20 for each wreaths supplies, including the ribbon(Which I got at Hobby Lobby). I had to use buffalo check, because If I haven’t stated this before, I’m obsessed with it!
These wood wreath rounds, were actually from my friends backyard. She lucks out and lives on a pretty wooded property. As for me, we just built our house and have absolutely no landscaping! If you’re like me and don’t have the option of your backyard and a saw, Then Hobby Lobby sells them in the wedding section, and by the craft wood. And for the wreath form, we used a 14″ wreath form.
Wreath Form
The first thing was to lay the wood rounds out in a circle and figure out how we wanted to place them. Staggering them one on top of each other was the easiest way, and also used less wood rounds. Once they were placed how we liked them we took wood glue and glued them all together.
Arranging
After the form was glued together we then went ahead, and figured out how we wanted to arrange the flowers, and stems. Once arranged how we liked we cut them down, and glued them using a hot glue gun. Then we added the buffalo check bow.
Wreath form
Once this was all done, we let the wreath dry overnight. In the morning we very, very, carefully flipped the wood wreath over. And then glued the embroidery hoop on also using wood glue. Then letting this dry again overnight, it was finished!
Now that Thanksgiving is a week away, I’m thinking of making another using the rounds. Instead of a fall theme, Christmas, with lots of sparkles!
