Simple Valentine’s Day Decor

Well… Love is in the air.. I think maybe.. I don’t really know, it’s also going on a year of a pandemic. So, I’m not sure, what’s in the air these days! All jokes aside, Valentine’s Day is rapidly approaching, and I love a day celebrating love.

I feel like one of the reasons I enjoy Valentine’s Day, is because I love sharing it with all my kids. Who doesn’t love a holiday revolving around flowers, and chocolate! Not to mention it really is a fun way to celebrate extra snuggles with my babies.

Decorating for Valentine’s Day is also something I enjoy. Now, I don’t go all out like I do for the bigger holidays. But, just adding a few simple touches around the house.

The Mantel

This year I made these DIY No sew Pillows, that I really am loving! It cost me around $20 to make both of these, and I think they pair well with these throw pillows from target.

The hardest part about decorating for Valentine’s Day, is that I have a hard time finding decor I actually love. Which means I end up making or tweaking some decor.

I found a branch outside, and these heart ornaments at Michaels. I wasn’t digging the red, so decided to spray paint them to get more of a modern look.

Dining Room

I added a few dramatic, vintage prints off of etsy to fill my frames in the dining room.

And then added these heart throws that I found at Hobby Lobby for $1. On one of my recent thrift trips, I found these vintage china plates for 5.99!! In love with the perfect touch of pink and flowers for Valentine’s Day! Topping my table setting with these $3 heart bowls from Target!!

All of my brass candlesticks are from the thrift store, and I love how romantic they all feel!

Playroom

The last place I usually add Valentine’s touches is the playroom. The garlands across the vintage Disney prints is a simple way to add a little festive touch. The play kitchen is usually where I get a little carried away. Can you tell I’m living vicariously through my kids..

Most of these items I found in the target dollar spot, and add some inexpensive character to the play kitchen.

Xoxo

For Valentine’s decor keep it simple, classic, but of course fun. Those are the three things I like to keep in mind. Do you decorate for Valentine’s Day, or have any simple Valentine’s touches you do?
