Dollar Store Village Hack
What a week, knocking out some Christmas crafts left, and right! I love getting crafty for the holidays, and I’m so excited about this Dollar Store Village Hack!
I’ve been seeing these dainty white Christmas villages everywhere this season. I was in the Dollar tree the other day, and I saw the little village set they had, and an idea hit me. I loved how small these houses were, and I knew I had this tray to use. What if I just spray painted these white? And that’s exactly what I did! I love that this DIY cost me a whopping $4 dollars. Most of the supplies I already had at home. The only other thing I grabbed were bottle brush trees from the Target dollar spot.
Step 1
The first step was to spray paint the houses white, I did do about 3 coats. After they dried I did notice a little red bled through on one of the houses so I just used a little white acrylic paint and painted the one spot.
Step 2
After the houses were dry I wanted to give them a little sparkle, I simply sprayed some adhesive spray on all of them.
Step 3
After I sprayed the adhesive spray I gently tapped on a little extra fine glitter on the tops and sides of the houses. Once it was dry I sprayed one more coat of adhesive spray on them just to insure the glitter didn’t come off, and set it.
The End Result
This could be one of my new Christmas Decoration Favorites this year, but with a few more crafts to go we can’t be sure 😉
