Fabulous Fall Backyard Movie Night

We are finally able to open are loving arms and embrace Fall!! Hello Fall how I’ve missed you oh so much! I felt that we needed to kick off my favorite season with a bang! A goodbye to summer and a hello to fall! What better way than with a Fall backyard movie night. A way for the mommas to unwind and the kids to run around and play. Because in a few short months we will all be pulling are hair out with cabin fever.

For this party I wanted to make sure it had a fun fall feel. I wanted to keep the kids entertained as well as let the momma’s relax, because on top of that we gave our husbands the night off. I do luck out having a fourteen year old in the house so her and two other girl friends came over and acted as the “movie theater concierge”. What does that mean exactly, I paid them a few dollars to run after our kids. That was the best idea I had with this whole backyard movie night. Not only did they help with set up, they did an excellent job catering to the kids. If you don’t own your own teenagers you could definitely ask the local neighbor kids, as this is a great trial run while you’re actually home to see how the baby-sitter and your kids get along. My daughter and her friends are loving making some money babysitting!

Outdoor Movie Theatre

I ended up getting my projector off of Amazon prime day, which is what gave me this whole idea for a movie night in the backyard. The list of ideas I have for using this projector goes on and on. I love it because I can just stick my fire stick into it and stream anything. Movies, Tv Shows, Sports, so many different options! I also purchased the projector screen from Amazon as well. Then I ended up recruiting my husband to create a stand using PVC. Since I was going with a fall theme, I picked some hay bales up from the pumpkin farm for some outdoor seating. I also found these really cute blanket scarves in the target dollar spot that were perfect, blankets/seat covers for the hay.

Sangria Bar

I know that this was a fall themed Movie night, but I was craving some sangria in my life! Plus I found these really cute drink dispensers at Target that were perfect for sangria. The sangria was so easy to pull off, just grabbed a few bottles from Costco, and some fruit from the grocery store! You can Click Here for a Free Sangria Bar Printable! It was a great little touch to our movie night, that us mommas were able to unwind with a glass of wine while the kids played and watched a movie.

Snacks

We started our movie night at six, and since we did it in the fall the sun sets a little earlier, and the bugs aren’t so bad. Everyone brought a side to share, we had so many yummy dips along from cookies, cupcakes and even apple cider donuts (a fall necessity in my eyes) But as the host I set up movie theater candy, a Popcorn Bar and Hot dogs!

I mean what better way to have a movie night than with a popcorn bar! I picked up this adorable Popcorn Machine which worked great, and easy to use. Plus it wasn’t hard to clean at the end of the night. I wanted a popcorn machine for some time for our basement and for when we’re doing fun things like movie nights with our friends, which led me to purchase this one. For sides I put out basic popcorn toppings such as, salt, butter and white cheddar flavoring. Along with caramel bits, candy corn, M&M’s, Reese’s Pieces as well to throw into the popcorn for a delicious fall treat. The cute popcorn bags were purchased at the dollar store!

I wanted to also keep it simple and as stress free for myself and the other momma’s. I found this Hot Dog Machine that seriously changed my life forever. It was so simple to use and easy to clean. I will be using this for all the kids birthday parties or any other function were hosting! Since I knew majority of the hot dog eaters were probably going to be the little ones I also kept it simple and just put out Ketchup and Mustard Squeeze Bottles for the condiment selection.

Lights, Camera, Action

Once the sun went down, we went with a crowd pleaser… Trolls. Of course the rest was history, the kids ran back and forth from the movie to the swingset. While us ladies laughed, snacked on way to many calories and unwinded a bit! Great success and everyone seemed to tire themselves out! Looking forward to more outdoor movies soon!
