Legoland Florida Review

|

We usually do Disney yearly, but this year we decided to try something different. road trip, beach and checking out Legoland and the Legoland Hotel in Winter Haven,Fl.

I have to admit I’m a crazy planner, and try to be over prepared for any situation, especially with four kids. That being said I went into Legoland completely blind. My husband came home one day with this idea, the kids liked it, I said go for it. He booked everything, and I had no idea he booked the V.I.P. Package until we arrived! The V.I.P package at Legoland included our hotel suite, park tickets for 2 days, valet parking, dinner buffet and breakfast buffet, and a photo package.

Legoland Park

We entered the park and I was surprised it wasn’t packed, but it was raining on and off the entire day! Which affected a lot of the rides. When lightning is in the area they needed to shut down all outdoor rides, which is about 90% of their rides. On the flip side we were able to get passes to come back another day since rides were shut down longer than 90 minutes due to weather. I have to say I was really impressed at the detail that went into everything at Legoland. The Carousel has LEGO horses, duplo land the tractor ride looked like the duplo LEGO tractor. My five-year old is obsessed with Ninjago so he loved Ninjago land! The 3D ride was really cool and he got to meet Sensei Wu, which was the highlight of his whole summer.

The Park itself was pretty clean, and service was friendly. That being said, it is NO Disney, but I would one hundred percent make a trip back! I felt the variety of food was scarce, Ice cream, funnel cakes, Pizza, chicken made up of most of the food. We did eat lunch at the restaurant in the hotel before we entered the park.

Things Not to Miss:

  • Pirates Cove Water show
  • Lego Character Meet and Greets
  • Lego Ninjago
  • Aquazone Wave Racers
  • Lego Ninjago Ride

Legoland Hotel

Let me tell you how amazing this hotel is! This hotel is totally out of this world for the kids! Even the 14-year-old was amazed. When you walk in you really are taken to the LEGO hotel. Everything is made from Lego’s including the mailbox! If you’re looking for a quiet experience with a spa, then this place is not for you. But if you’re looking for a place where your kids can hang out unwind and have some serious fun, this is it!

Just pass the check in counters there is a huge Lego play area, where your kids can play while you sit and put your feet up for a little. A bar/grill is located next to it so the adults could enjoy a beverage while the kids play! The main restaurant is next to the play area as well, and its a buffet. We ate at the bar/grill and the food was good! We also ate at the buffet and the food was so-so, but they offered all the food my kids love(hot dogs, Mac and cheese, chicken nuggets, tater tots, etc.)

Our Room

One of the best parts of the hotel was the elevator! We got in and the elevator turns into a dance party! Disco lights, music, the kids had an absolute blast riding in the elevator! Since we did the V.I.P. package our room was a suite. We stayed in the Lego friends suite, which was decked out from head to toe! From robes for the kids to a screened in patio that I didn’t want to leave!(even in July)

This room could easily sleep 10 people! a separate kids room with 2 sets of bunk beds, trundle beds and a tv. A living room with two couches one being a pull out bed. A master bed and a HUGE bathroom! When we walked into the room there was a safe that the kids had to find the code for, once they found it they opened the safe and it was full of little Lego sets for them to take home. A s’more set and a bottle of Martinelli’s Sparkling Cider was also in our room! Talk about the V.I.P treatment for the kids!

The kids had a blast, even with the rain making it hard to go on all the rides. We are definitely going to try to use are passes to go back. We have a trip scheduled to Disney in January, and its only about an hour drive to Legoland from Disney! Hopefully we can make it happen.
