Summer Bucket List 2020
Schools out and it’s officially summer break!! I live for those slower mornings, sunshine, and sitting on the porch in the evening! So many things to love about Summer!!
One of our favorite activities to get summer started in the house is creating a summer bucket list. From gathering our ideas to decorating our bucket list it’s always such a memorable time for us. One of the reasons I put so much effort into our summer bucket list is because, it keeps us from getting bored, and I think it’s helps build memories they won’t ever forget.
Summer Bucket list Ideas
Our first item of business when it comes to the summer bucket list is gathering ideas. We all sit down and try to think of good ones. When thinking of ideas I try to aim at easy, realistic ideas, but also a bit unique. As a mom the last thing I want is the added pressure and guilt of not getting the summer bucket list done. This year we came up with fourteen ideas which I’ve listed below:
- Ice Cream Taste Test – of course blind folded, and defiantly with all the ice cream sundae fixings too!
- Look for shooting stars – Grabbing a telescope off of Amazon, and enjoying a night under the stars
- Movie & Popcorn Under the stars – we love our Cinemood projector, and can’t wait to give it a try under the stars!!
- Make our Own Bird Books – we plan on using our Instax instant camera to capture the birds in the backyard and put them in a fun book
- Watercolor painting – out of all the painting we’ve done, we’ve never done a watercolor painting, so we will be trying it out on a rainy day
- DIY slip and slide – were creating our own slip in slide in the back yard!!
- paint outside- were going to create some fun art outside, were thinking of using some water balloons and squirt guns!
- Go fishing – we love fishing in this house, and can’t wait to catch a big one!
- Outdoor game night- Yardzee, Yarkle, and maybe tic tac toe
- Make our own Birdhouse – we got a thing for birds, so were thinking of painting our own, as well as maybe making some pine cone bird feeders!
- Tye Dye – who doesn’t love tye dye!! We adore this kit from Amazon!!
- Nature Scavenger Hunt – from finding a pinecone, to a frog!
- Bike Ride – some of us are learning to ride with out training wheels so hopefully soon, we can take a family bike ride with no more training wheels!!
- S’more Board- its like charcuterie, but with all the S’more fixings!
Bucket list supplies
Now that we know what we want to accomplish this summer, its time to get creative and make our bucket list! The past couple years we’ve created different ways to display our bucket list. This year we went with a garland and a banner! I bought most of the supplies from amazon, except for the tags and the banner.
- black banner – from target bullseye playground(summer 2020)
- Tags- from hobby lobby
- Black and white twine
- Clothespins
- Stickers – these are also great to decorate water bottles
- Washi Tape
- and the cricut – ( white iron on vinyl and fine point markers) this is optional
Making Our Bucket List
Now we had our bucket list ideas, and we had our supplies, its time to watch our bucket list come to life. I used the cricut to write our list out neatly, but the cricut isn’t necessary at all. After the tags said our bucket list items, we added some washi tape!
The kids favorite part in all of this… picking out the stickers for each tag!! And then with the left over stickers we added them to our summer water bottles! Attaching the tags to the twine with different color clothespins gave our bucket list a pop of added color for some summer.
At target a few weeks ago, I found this black banner (in the bullseye playground), and bought it. I wasn’t sure what I would use it for, but once we started this project thought it was perfect. Using the cricut and iron on vinyl printed it out to say Summer Bucket List. Which was really exciting, because it fit perfect!
Summer Fun!!!
Ta-Da!!! We’re all set for summer fun!! and can’t wait to take a tag down each time we accomplish some summer bucket list fun!!!! Happy Summer Friends!!
