Simple Ways to decorate for the Holiday’s using Garland

|

It’s about time to start decking the halls… with fa la la la la, and all that other holiday jazz. I’m getting ready to pull out the Christmas bins this week. Before I do so, I always go through last years pictures. Mainly to remember what holiday treasures I have tucked away in all those dreadful bins. Knowing what I’m getting myself into before hand, helps me plan a little bit more upfront.

And it really is no secret I love decorating for the holidays, twinkle lights, sentimental ornaments, and all the traditions we have in our home. One of my favorite, and easiest ways to spread some holiday decor through the home is greenery. Faux or live garland, I usually have a mix of both, and it can be used throughout the home.

Looking back on the previous years, I’ve rounded up some of the places I like to use green garland. Starting with our mantel!

Mantel

The Mantel, A green garland is a way to make your decorating look a bit more fancier. And the ways it can be draped on a mantel is endless.

I suggest finding a greenery you like, one that can be used for years to come. Buying a plain green garland is great, it can be mixed up with ornaments one year, or used with another type of garland the next.

Front Door

The Front Door, is a great place to add a welcoming touch. I found that greenery around the door, can really drive that home. I add a 8ft length of live garland, but faux can be used as well. These command hooks seem to work really well outdoors, and they’re easy to put up! a little garland around the threshold, and a wreath, and you’re all set!

Stairs

Ask me my favorite place to put garland, and I’ll tell you the stairs! By far the most dramatic, and upscale way to add holiday flare, and it really is pretty simple! I get my live garland at Costco, it costs about $30. I use twine to tie it to the railing, and it works so well!

Centerpiece

another option, is as a table centerpiece. Garland can be used as a table runner during the holidays, easily creating a beautiful table setting.
