Tips And Tricks For Hosting A Simple and Classic Baby Sprinkle
Over the weekend I had the pleasure of hosting a dear friends baby sprinkle! Which had me thinking I should throw a blog together with some tips and tricks I used for this sprinkle!
First off, I have to state, I am a HUGE procrastinator! I don’t mean to be, but that’s just how my brain works best… under pressure! So even though I knew what I wanted to do for this shower, I didn’t see most of it come to life until the day before! That being said I also believe that you can host a beautiful party with out breaking the bank and putting a whole ton of work into it.
Decorations
My girlfriend is due with her fourth, and its a BOY! Knowing that she was due with a boy, the colors I chose were navy, gold, white, and some black. Since baby blue is the most traditional color for a boy sprinkle/shower, I felt Navy was a little different, but still keeping things classic. Seeing that it’s Spring almost Summer, and both peonies, and hydrangea’s are just blooming thats what was used for floral arrangements! Having the color theme, and the choice in flowers, I was feeling that it was going to be a successful simple and classic sprinkle!
These vases are actually terra cotta planters, painted in clay, then I applied some Annie sloan Wax in dark! I found the terra cotta planters at Hobby Lobby on sale for $5 a piece. When ever I’m party planning, I try to make sure I can reuse the decor. When I am done with these as vases, I’ll continue to use them as planters for outside.
Florals are from Trader Joe’s and Costco, both of these places are my favorite places to buy fresh flowers. The arrangements include white hydrangea’s, white peonies, and eucalyptus.
Balloons! Balloons are such a great way to add some beautiful decor to your party! Not to mention that Amazon makes it so easy to have them shipped right to your house. I’m a big fan of the balloon garlands, and purchase them off of amazon. I’m also a big fan of the foil letter balloons! They’re budget friendly, and add such great flare to a party
Summing up decor, florals, and balloons were what was used for keeping it classic and simple!
Food and Drink
Now that we’ve talked decor, lets handle the food. Keeping it simple is the name of the game! We did a brunch theme, all my brunch lovers can appreciate that! Bagels, cream cheese, tomatoes, and onions. Danishes, donuts, quiches, egg bake, caprese salad, and a grazing board! All of these things are easy to prepare, and a lot of it can be purchased for a great price at Costco or Sam’s. Finding foods that are ready to go and don’t take a ton of time preparing makes things that much easier.
Mimosa bar.. or should I say MOMosa bar!! I mean I had to do a Momosa bar for a sprinkle! One of my favorite ladies in this social media world, Bethany at Crisp Collective, has an amazing blog with ALL the printables for a Mimosa/Momosa Bar, you can check out here
The other items I used were these plastic carafe’s for the juice! Fresh fruit, and Prosecco from Costco!
Cake
The cake was made by a friend of a friend, and her instagram can be found here. I wanted to have a naked cake, because, I think that they’re so pretty, and also simple. She added some roses to top it off. and I ordered the cake topper from Etsy. To give it a little something extra I painted it.
Party Favors
For the party favors, I found these little plants at Trader Joe’s for $1.99 a piece. I have one that I bought a few months ago and just love it in my kitchen, so when I saw them again I snagged them for the guests! Adding tags that were an instant download from Etsy, with some twine, and that was that!
Oh Baby!!!
Now all we need is this baby to make his arrival!! Thank you Kim, for letting me host an sprinkle for you!! Loved being able to plan a laid back, classic sprinkle for the guest of honor!!
